Explore Our Journey私たちについて
Welcome to the Haiku Association of Sri Lanka, where the ancient Japanese art form of haiku poetry flourishes in the vibrant landscape of Sri Lanka. We are a community of poets, nature lovers, and cultural enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and promoting this beautiful literary tradition.
A Haiku poetry society is a gathering of souls who deeply cherish the environment, the creatures that inhabit it, the flowing streams, towering trees, and the very essence of our homeland. The culmination of this profound connection manifests in our shared humanity.
Founded by veteran Sinhala poet Palitha Senarathna, our association aims to introduce the quality and depth of Japanese haiku poetry, together with modern interpretations, to the Sri Lankan literary community. We conduct weekly study circles, host poetry contests, organize nature walks, and create opportunities for cultural exchange.
